Frequently asked questions
The Cyber Risk Dashboard is where policyholders can view the most current information Travelers has about their organization’s cyber risk, including a prioritized set of actions our team recommends to improve cybersecurity.
The policyholder can see the latest findings from our non-intrusive security scan, including their Cyber Risk Score, and fill out security questionnaires that help to augment the scan findings.
They can also access our network of preferred security vendors to help with making decisions on their cybersecurity investments.
The Cyber Risk Services team comprises cyber experts from both the former Corvus team and the existing Travelers’ Risk Control team. It is led by Lauren Winchester, who held the same role at Corvus and is 100% staffed by Travelers employees.
We offer unlimited access for policyholders, or their agents or brokers, to request guidance from our team via email at [email protected]. This guidance typically comes in the form of virtual meetings or phone calls, which are governed by the offerings shown on the menu of services provided in marketing materials and policy documents.
Our team will proactively reach out to policyholders and their agents in the case of a threat alert, as well as regularly sending helpful educational material on cyber. At the beginning of the policy term, the policyholder will receive an invite to register their Cyber Risk Dashboard account.
Our non-intrusive security scan, developed in-house by our data science team, continuously monitors all publicly visible elements of a policyholder’s IT environment. Simultaneously, our threat intelligence experts are conducting research to understand emerging cybercrime trends and threats.
We combine information from each of these sources to determine if a new threat may be likely to impact any individual policyholder. When we determine that a threat requires immediate action, Travelers sends an alert with clear remediation steps to any policyholders that are likely to be impacted. We always “CC” the agent or broker when we send threat alerts.
A two-page document providing an overview of the services will be inserted into the quote and bind documents automatically.
Policyholders will also receive a “Purchase Confirmation” email after their policy binds, which includes a link to download the two-page document. Shortly after the purchase confirmation email, the policyholder will receive a second email inviting them to set up their Cyber Risk Dashboard account.
We adapt our approach to meet policyholders wherever they are in their security journey so that businesses of any size or complexity can benefit. That can mean helping a small business get started with understanding and implementing basic security controls, or augmenting an existing enterprise security team by adding additional tooling to their security program.
For any policyholder that has been given access to Cyber Risk Services, all of the tools and services shown in the top portion of the Services menu are available at no cost, regardless of the organization’s revenue or policy premium.
This accounts for the majority of the overall service offerings. Additional “Expert Support” offerings are available for policyholders with at least $1M of cyber limit purchased.
When it comes time to renew, our team is available to answer any questions, including a review of the policyholder’s security posture to identify any vulnerabilities or security control gaps that might impact renewal. If needed, we’ll provide guidance and tailored recommendations so they are in the best possible position before quoting.
